Buena Vista: 1890s ~ 1920s


In the early 1900, Buena Vista Ice Company purchased 43 acres of land in the site of the Cascade Town Centre,
excavated the Lake Royer and the Lake Wastler to harvest natural ice.
The harvested ice blocks were stored in 11 icehouses and delivered to Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Baltimore, etc. using the Western Maryland Railway.
The Buena Vista Ice Company was one of the southenmost ice companies in the US
