With its cool breeze, mountain scenery and serviced by railway, Cascade area was one of the most popular resort area in the East
From 1878 to 1942 , Penmar Amusement Park attracted nearly one million tourist each summer.


To accommodate the large number of tourists, there were many hotels and boarding houses in the Cascade area including the Blue Mountain House (300-room Victorian Upscale Hotel shown above)
